If you’re looking for a great Starcraft 2 Terran Rush that you can use effectively to disrupt your enemy’s minerals and really take out their economy, then I have a few tips for you.  The key to this kind of rush is to really take out their economy before they have a chance of building up.

Here’s A Reaper Rush Build Order

The key here is getting a Reaper as soon as possible.  Instead of your usual supply depot at 10, you should aim to get the Reaper extremely quickly.  You should save up and get a barracks down at the 9/11 supply point.  Right away, get a refinery and get 3 SCV’s in it as soon as you build it.  After that you can get your 10th SCV, but no more yet.

As soon as your Barracks is finished you’ll have sufficient gas to add an additional tech lab.  Hotkey up your Barracks and set it’s spawn points to inside your opponent’s base.  Once your tech lab is finished, get a reaper out as fast as possible and he wil be the 11/11 supply.

After that get a supply depot so that you can have enough resources to build more reapers and they will all be sent into your opponent’s base to wreck havoc on them.

If They Retaliate, Use Your Head

A lot of people think that this is an “all in” strategy, but I don’t think so.  If, somehow,t hey start killing your first reaper, then pull back until you have a few more to really go in there and one-shot a lot of his workers.  For instance, if he starts getting on your first reaper and you feel like you’re going to lose it, change the spawn points to halfway across your base to his and get like 2-3 reapers and then start doing some guerilla warfare.

You can do a lot of hit and run to really destroy their economy and gather rate, and you can also destroy important buildings that you think will really put him behind.  It’s not an “all or nothing” strategy, it’s more of a “success on different levels” based on how well you can destroy their economy and halt their resources from being gathered.

What Is The Starcraft 2 Galaxy Editor?

The Starcraft 2 galaxy editor is a map editor that allows you to create maps and scenarios in your Starcraft 2 games.  You can do whatever you want pretty much, and there are a few different orders that people do to build up their maps.  I’m going to go over the most common one, which is from “the ground up.”

First, Select Your Terrain

You can select what kind of map you want to start with, and then add everything on top of it.  So whether you want a lot of rock, sand, etc, I would choose which one you like the most.  From here you can see what your map will look like overall and prepare to add a lot of different things.

Once You Set The Ground, Start On Landmarks

When you have the ground as whatever texture / terrain you want, you can begin to add smaller things that are part of the environment.  You can add water, cliffs, mountains, and a bunch of different kinds of terrain.  Hills are great, valleys, and fall-off areas that give the advantage to flying units are a must have in all Starcraft 2 games.

You Can Add Units Next, Or Spawn Locations

You can pretty much decide where you want the civilizations to start and you can set up where the resources are going to be.  You want to keep the resources as similar to the regular Starcraft 2 maps so that you can almost not tell that there is anything “different” or “weird” about the map.  You want it to play as similarly as a regular Starcraft 2 map.

Using Triggers to Create a Scenario

A trigger is something that happens in reaction to something else.  For instance, you can select an area of the map where, if people walk on it, you can spawn enemy units to combat them.

This is particularly important for the campaign mode, as you have probably seen things spawn and waves attack consistently until you defeat them.  This is how it works.  If you wanted to make endless waves until you reach a certain point, you could have them keep spawning ever x seconds, and once the player stands on a block of area around where they spawn, you stop them.  Triggers are awesome to create some very interesting games

Looking for a quick Starcraft 2 Map Editor Guide to help you get started on designing your own maps, or scenarios?  The Starcraft 2 map editor has come out way before Starcraft 2 release, and the buzz about it was ridiculous.

Now that Starcraft 2 is officially out a lot of people are still trying to learn how to design their own games and maps within Starcraft, and set up their own scenarios that will play out during the game.  While the map editor is really complicated, there are a few simple basics that you can learn about to get started easily.

Designing Terrain & Sculpting the Map

The first thing that you’ll probably want to do is physically design the map.  You can set the ground texzture to whatever you want, whether you want it to be rock or some sort of ground.  You will probably start setting the ground one entire texture, and then after that fill in the different places that you want to have a little alternate ground.

After you’ve dropped down your ground texture you’ll put the rest of the stuff on it, such as patches of different texture, water, rivers, etc.   After doing that you’ll want to add your cliffs and elevation.  This is where it gets really fun because you can make things extremely dynamic now (You used to be restircted quite a bit in the original Starcraft map editor.)

Adding Units, Resources, and Triggers

Once you have the map looking how you want it to you can add all of your units on the ground and drop the resources that you want to be able to be collceted there too.  WIth the units and resources down, the next step, if you’re making a scenario, is to add triggers.

Triggers allow you to do a lot of things.  You can make a trigger so that units will spawn in one location and disappear in another, charge a specific place, or just move around.  You can create triggers to create defenses when players reach a certain area, and you can really customize it more than can be explained.

Micro Managing – The Game Winner For The Experts

I’d say that micromanaging is one of the best and powerful techniques that the experts use to win consecutively and consistently in Starcraft 2.  The key is that you can have a huge impact on the success and victory of battles by managing a few units individually.  Also, by sending certain units to certain places, you can inflict a lot of damage and surprise to your opponents.

Examples of Micromanaging

There are way too many uses of micromanagement to give you a lot of examples, but here are a few.  Let’s say you have some melee units that are terrible against ranged, but you have some other units that are GREAT against ranged.

One fantastic micro managing technique you can use is to lure their ranged units in with your melee (They’ll think that they can wipe you out,) and then you can pull in your ranged-killers and destroy them.  You could even surround them and take them out that way, or lure them away from their base while leaving it open to attacks from your other heavy hitting siege weapons.

Alternately, if you have a unit that’s low health, you can quickly draw them away from the battle so that they can repair their damage.  Small movements and adjustments like this throughout the game can really help to keep units alive.

In the same kind of action you could easily send in your full health units first, so that they are the ones that are attacked.  This will protect the units that have lower health (until the opponent does some micro managing on their own.)

Moving Your Military For Diversion & Flanking

You could easily have a lot of units attack one side of their base, that will draw a lot of their units to that area to protect.  Then, that may open up part of their base for you to attack.  This would be a great diversion if they have a lot of units that you don’t want to deal with, but you may have to do some hit and run if you want to succeed.

Another great way is to flank the enemy and surround them with one or two packs of units.

So you have opened a Cafepress shop and you have gotten your first few designs in the system and ready to sell. Now what? After your first few designs you may find that you have some t-shirt writer’s block. You know you need more designs but you are drawing blanks for fresh ideas. Perhaps you need some ideas for some funny quotes, slogans or sayings. Here is seven tips to get your creative juices flowing and help you on your way to some new designs.

1 Always have a quick place to write down the sudden ideas you get during the day time. I personally use the notes function on my cell phone and I have also sent myself a text message! It’s a horrible feeling to have a great idea during the day and by the time you get in front of the computer to execute it, and it is long gone.

2 Keep your eyes open and notice what other people are wearing. Young people change style very quickly and you need to adapt with them to get the sales. Also keep a look out for Niche’s that are not properly represented with T-Shirts.

3 Search Zazzle and Cafepress shop to see what other shop keepers are doing. Have a pen ready to get your ideas down. See whats out there, a lot of the time you will see stuff that is not done to its full potential and you can borrow from that design and make it better. Just make sure you are making something that is not a copy, make an original design that was inspired by someone else’s work.

4 Look at what you have already got, you can create more items with the designs you already have. All you need to do is to resize the image for other items on the site like bumper stickers, buttons and coffee cups. These are just a few of many items you can add to increase your inventory for more chances at sales.

5 Sometimes you just need a break. Work on something else totally different for a while and then come back to your work. You don’t want to force things just because you feel like you need more items.

6 Tweak the stuff you already have. Change colors of designs, change fonts of writing, rearrange items on the design. You never know what people are going to go for, give them more options. This will also put more of your stuff in the marketplace.

7 The best way to get ideas for designs is to ask for them. Ask People, in person, Facebook, Twitter and any other kind of Social Media. Most people have thoughts of what they would think would look good on a T-shirt. A large amount of my products in my Cafepress shop were basically given to me by people who don’t have time or energy to have a shop.

Writers block is no fun. Of all the ways on the list, I use the ask people option the most. Just be carefull with this because people might be offended if you don’t take their idea and run with it. Remember not everyone will like all of the designs you put up, its ok, people are individuals and will like what they like. A lot of my business comes from funny slogans on t shirts. It’s great, people like random things and sometimes its just hit or miss on what people will buy. Have fun and I hope this sparked some ideas for your shop.
